Legislative Conference

Who Can Attend?
The NPA Legislative Conference is open to all current NPA pawnbroker members.

Why Should I Attend?
With a newly elected President and Members of Congress, and the Military Lending Act now in effect, your participation in the NPA Legislative Conference is more important than ever and crucial in the effort to protect our industry.

The conference is designed to build and reinforce relationships between you, the constituent, and your Members of Congress and their staff. Your participation helps create a greater understanding by Congress of the important role the pawn industry plays in serving the financial needs of Americans.

What Should I Expect?
Attendees arrive in Washington, DC on Monday.

On Tuesday, the day will begin with education sessions focusing on government relations, followed by a luncheon. In the afternoon, the legislative briefing will review the talking points and other materials for your Hill visits, ensuring you are fully prepared for your meetings on Wednesday. That evening, attendees will have the opportunity to get to know fellow pawnbrokers and delegates from their state at a reception.

On Wednesday, you will go to Capitol Hill with other delegates from your state. NPA will make appointments on Capitol Hill for attendees. You may depart in the evening after your appointments conclude.

If you are pursuing your Certified Pawn Professional (CPP) designation, or would like to begin, a course will be available on Thursday, April 26 following the Legislative Conference.
