Future Business Leaders Scholarship (FBL) Scholarship Program

Dana Meinecke, Executive Director of the National Pawnbrokers Association, emphasizes the importance of giving back to local communities. “Although the children in our country represent less than 25 percent of the population, they are 100 percent of the future!”

The FBL Scholarship Program was established to provide scholarships to individual applicants who are planning to enroll, or are enrolled, at an accredited two-year college, four-year college, or trade school. Qualified applicants are the children, grandchildren, customer, employee, or individual sponsored by a member in good standing in the NPA. Student selection is based on academic performance, community leadership, and written essay submissions.

NPA also awards two $1,000 scholarships to Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.). These scholarships are given to survivors of fallen officers who do not receive tuition-free education as a state death benefit. C.O.P.S. also provides scholarships to survivors who no longer meet their state’s eligibility for assistance.

NPA is proud to be an active member in local communities throughout the country with programs like the Future Business Leaders Scholarship Program. FBL has awarded $140,000 since its inception in 2003.
