National Pawnbrokers Association Presents Annual Awards at Pawn Expo 2015

Honorees recognized for significant contributions to the pawn industry and community

The National Pawnbrokers Association (NPA) announced today the recipients of the 2015 NPA Annual Awards. Each year NPA awards outstanding achievements on the part of its members in several areas. This year’s honorees were recognized at the Pawn Expo Awards Luncheon on July 7, 2015, at the Mirage Events Center in Las Vegas, NV.

Marshall & Sterling – Industry Partner of the Year
Marshall & Sterling of Poughkeepsie, NY received the NPA Industry Partner of the Year Award. The company has been an Industry Partner member since 2010 and has played a pivotal role in supporting pawn stores nationally by providing sponsorships, advertising and excellent customer service. Specializing in insurance products for the pawn industry, Marshall & Sterling has been in business since 1864.

The NPA Industry Partner of the Year Award is presented annually to the NPA Industry Partner member who, through their performance and dedication, has shown significant support of the association and its members.

Bob Moulton – Outstanding Community Relations Award
Bob Moulton of National Jewelry & Pawn was presented with the award for Outstanding Community Relations.

With nine stores in Raleigh and Durham, NC, National Pawn believes that a large part of the quality of life in a community is the development of its children.

In the last year alone, National Jewelry & Pawn has donated financial gifts as well as hundreds of musical instruments to support local schools and band programs throughout their community. National Jewelry & Pawn furnished every patient room of their local hospital with new televisions and DVD players. Additionally, they have donated hundreds of game cartridges, gaming systems and over 1,000 kid friendly movies to local families.

The Outstanding Community Relations Award is new for 2015, and is presented to an NPA Pawnbroker or Affiliate member company who advances the standard and quality of life in their community through public service or volunteerism.

Joshua Davis – Young Professional of the Year Award
Joshua Davis of Gold N Connection in Oakland Park, FL was named the 2015 Young Professional of the Year.

Gold N Connection has six locations in the South Florida area and has been an NPA member since 2008. Joshua Davis serves as president of the Florida Pawnbrokers Association and is an active supporter of the Jewish Federation of Broward County. He is also a computer system engineer and programmer.

Mr. Davis is the first to receive this new award, which recognizes young professionals who have demonstrated exceptional success in their businesses and local communities and have made a significant contribution to the pawn industry.
