What is the NPA PAC?
The NPA PAC is a voluntary, non-partisan political contribution plan allowed by federal law. A PAC is a group of individuals who share common political concerns.
Why join a PAC?
By joining the PAC, you are given the opportunity to help shape the laws that influence your business and life.
Why is it important for you to contribute to a PAC?
In today’s political environment, voting is not enough to ensure your voice will be heard. There is thousands of special interest groups involved in politics, all of them competing to have their ideas accepted by lawmakers. Voting may help you elect the right people, but by itself it’s no guarantee they know our business or understand the impact legislation will have on us. This is where the NPA PAC can make a difference. Your PAC contributions give us the edge in competition and ensure the lawmakers know who we are as an industry.
The Challenge is ahead of us:
We must continue to strengthen our reputation in the political arena. Our opponents are well organized; we must be stronger and smarter. The PAC will help us win!
NPA critical concerns we are currently involved with federally:
- Federal: a proposed 36% APR cap for all consumer credit transactions covered by TILA
- Pawn customers’ right to privacy
- Profiling of pawn customers
- Transaction fees and higher licensing fees
Guidelines for PAC donations:
